A fine Iserlohn tabacco box for the Dutch market. Dated 1774 and depicting the 5th Russo-Turkish war, including all the placed were the battles took place. These boxes were very popular among the Dutch.

Description

A quite unusual 18th century brass tabacco box depicting the 5th Russo-Ottoman war and the places where the battles took place (Crimean area). The war was won by the Russians defeating Abdul Resach in 1774. The box is dated 20th of august 1774 and made by Johann Heinreich Becker. – Isherlohn – Germany. Available

Condition: Very good, some little signs of use, and a very small dent on the front.
